Driver's License Requirements

The main driver and any additional drivers must provide a full physical driving licence with no major endorsements. The license should be held for at least 2 year(s).

For foreign renters, you need to bring:

Original driving licence + International Driving Permit (IDP)

Please note that an International Driving Permit (IDP) is only a translation. You must present your original driving licence together with the original IDP at the counter — photocopies or scanned copies are not accepted.

Original South Korea Driving License (English version)

An English translation must be provided on the back of the driver's license.

Original driving licence + NAATI Translation

The translation of the driver's license certified by the Australian Translation and Accreditation Institute (NAATI) can be used to rent a car and drive in Australia.

If you are a local renter, you may be required to present a utility bill within 3 months for checking.

The only vehicles permitted to travel on unsealed roads are the following FFAR, KPGE, SFDR, PFAR, FFAM, SFBR, SFBD(SUV modles and PICKUP modles)and then ONLY if Unsealed Road Cover has been purchased. An unsealed road refers to a constructed or formed road that is not sealed with a hard material, such as tar, bitumen or concrete. Rental cars can only be driven on sealed/bitumen or well maintained roads.Vehicles are not to be taken above the snow line unless Snow Cover has been purchased.Excluded from the protection is driving on beaches or through streams, dams, rivers or flood water. The service is rather pushy on insurance coverage despite that i have already bought the comprehensive insurance from EASYrentcars. This should be avoided by looking at the agreement and booking details. Unfortunately, she was just too eager to sell. I was also given a similar car (Isuzu - diesel) instead of my preferred toyota Rav4 (petrol). This is a small issue but i will appreciate if she will to inform me that diesel is not easily available in the city pump stations. I had a hard times searching for 1 petrol station that offers diesel. This is quite annoying. Luckily, i plan to return 1 hour early but in the end, i managed to return it before 5pm as per agreed time.

After submitting the order and documents, they asked if we wanted daily insurance for 50 AUD, but we declined as per the booking. They were okay with it. The car inspection was done, and we received a similar car, a Kia Sportage.
