In the end, I had to pay a deposit of over 50,000 pesos. Additionally, the car's fuel tank wasn't full when I picked it up, and I only noticed it after getting on the highway, which almost left me stranded due to low fuel. Fortunately, the issue was noted in the rental agreement, so technically there wasn't a problem. However, for those who aren't attentive or don't read the contract thoroughly, it could turn into a hidden pitfall. This can be especially troublesome for people who are not fluent in English.

I chose an international chain with a counter right outside the airport. The staff guided us to a shuttle that took us directly to the nearby rental office. We queued up using a computer system. Although I booked a Toyota, they gave me a Dodge. They accepted domestic credit cards. It was a bit crowded so the wait was long, but everything went smoothly in the end.
