The staff contacted us in advance to set up a time and personally picked us up and took us to CIQ, which was really convenient.

The staff at the rental place were super helpful and friendly. They patiently explained how the Malaysian highways work with the EasyGo toll card, and the best part was they even lent me an EasyGo card for free. That really saved me a lot of hassle on the rest of my road trip.

Our flight landed after midnight and the rental company still had someone waiting for us, which was really nice. The handover was super smooth, and returning the car was even easier—just dropped it off with the valet. The car itself was fairly standard, but Penang isn’t that big, so having any car already makes getting around much more convenient. Gas in Malaysia is amazingly cheap, almost on par with Dubai, so driving yourself is definitely worth it. Parking is a bit more expensive compared to back home in China, but still within a reasonable range.

Super satisfied with this car rental experience! The Proton Saga was in great condition, comfortable to drive, strong A/C, and very fuel‑efficient. We drove around Malaysia for a few days and it handled both city streets and highways really well. Plenty of space in the car—perfect for two people with luggage. Great value for money and a really good option for exploring Malaysia.

The counter is in the arrivals hall, second to last in the row, so it’s pretty easy to find. Everything went smoothly, just paid the deposit by card and that was it. The car was a bit old, but still easy enough to drive.

Right at the airport, super easy to find and dropping off was a breeze. Just fill up the tank and drive straight to the terminal.

Booked a Honda City but they upgraded me for free to a Hyundai KONA (2.0, 7‑speed). Drove it in sport mode up to the sacred mountain and it was seriously punchy, easy to keep up with the local Malaysian drivers. Totally changed how I think about Hyundai.

They added us on messaging ahead of time and clearly walked us through all the important reminders and parking rules. If anything came up, we could just drop a message in the group and they replied really fast. After we got home, they even followed up to check whether we arrived safely—super responsible! The car itself was in good condition, the AC worked great, and it was fairly fuel-efficient. The car was also spotless when we picked it up. Overall, really satisfied.

Just a pretty average small company and not very professional. The car was basically out of gas when I picked it up, and I ended up returning it with half a tank left. They even told me to just leave the key on the tire.

The local rental company at Johor Bahru airport was really professional and attentive. Pick-up was quick, and they took the time to clearly explain all the important details. I chose a 2015 model, but the car was very well maintained—clean inside and out with no strange smells.

Both pick-up and drop-off were super convenient since everything is right at the airport. I’ll definitely use R&R again next time.

It was actually the EUROCAR counter at the airport. Big company, smooth service. I forgot my physical driver’s license but they still let me rent using my IDP. Returning the car was easy too. The car itself was a bit old, but still clean and the A/C worked well.
