Please note that an International Driving Permit (IDP) is only a translation. You must present your original driving licence together with the original IDP at the counter — photocopies or scanned copies are not accepted.

EU/EEA driving licenses are valid for car rental across the EU/EEA, as well as in Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Cross Border

Allowed:

Taking rental cars to the countries that are not listed in Not allowed is allowed with charge of NOK 250 per day.
For all cross-border travel, it is mandatory that you have Roadside Protection (RAP) included/purchased on your rental. In all cases, customers must inform the rental branch of their intention to leave the country with the vehicle and require written authorization. Unauthorized cross border travels will result in a breach of contract and incur in a penalty charge of 10,000 NOK.

    Very satisfied. We arrived 40 minutes early, and although there was no one available at first, the staff made us wait until the scheduled time to complete the formalities. They were very thorough. However, we didn't realize that adding a driver would also require providing the Chinese driving license booklet. International certifications and Hague authentication were not acceptable. It would be great if users could be reminded of this in advance in the future.

    1. The car was great to drive, a Skoda, and it came with a full tank. 2. The QEEQ online support team was honestly amazing. I ran into two big issues and they actively helped me sort both out. First, my flight was delayed so I had to push back my pickup time. Trying to call the local counter to change it was a hassle, but after chatting with a QEEQ agent online, they responded quickly and helped me successfully adjust and pick up the car. Second, I needed to return the car earlier than planned. I’d booked the car quite early, but bought my flight later, and in the end the only flights left were very early in the morning, so I had to drop the car off ahead of schedule. The QEEQ staff really went all out—calling, emailing, texting—using every possible way to help me arrange the early return. Even though the local counter hasn’t officially checked in and inspected the car yet, the overall experience has been fantastic!!! All in all, renting a car abroad through QEEQ feels really reassuring. As long as you reach out to their live customer service, they’ll jump in and coordinate things right away. I’m genuinely grateful!!!
