Driver's License Requirements

The main driver and any additional drivers must provide a full physical driving licence with no major endorsements. The license should be held for at least 1 year(s).

For foreign renters, you need to bring:

Please note that an International Driving Permit(IDP) is only a translation.You must present your original driving licence with the original IDP at the counter.

Taking rental cars to following countries is allowed and free of charge:
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Italy, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Portugal, The Republic of San Marino, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican City State, Denmark, Norway, Sweden

Any islands are excluded from cross border travels. Travels to Norway and Sweden are only permitted between 1st May and 30th September.

Depending on which countries to bring the rental cars to, policies differ:

Standard, Fullsize, Premium and Luxury vehicles as well as the brands Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Volkswagen are not allowed to cross border.Any islands are excluded from cross border travels.Standard, Fullsize, Premium and Luxury vehicles as well as the brands Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Volkswagen are not permitted to go into Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.

When renting a car in Europe, choose a smaller vehicle. SUVs can be troublesome in many parking lots due to narrow roads and tight entrances/exits. Additionally, parking rates are €25-30/24h in Rotterdam, €45/24h in Belgium, and €46/24h in French underground parking lots. It's suggested to return the car in France and use the metro during your stay there. When traveling to other countries, rent a car again. Renting in the city center is half as expensive as at the airport, but returning a car at the airport is more convenient. You can weigh the pros and cons yourself.
