Please note that an International Driving Permit (IDP) is only a translation. You must present your original driving licence together with the original IDP at the counter — photocopies or scanned copies are not accepted.

Original driving licence + NAATI Translation

The translation of the driver's license certified by the Australian Translation and Accreditation Institute (NAATI) can be used to rent a car and drive in Australia.

Original South Korea Driving License (English version)

An English translation must be provided on the back of the driver's license.

Original Driver's License in Latin/Roman Alphabet

Original Driver's Licenses printed in Latin/Roman alphabet (such as English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, etc.) are acceptable for car rental without the need for an International Driving Permit (IDP). Driver's licenses printed in a non-Roman alphabet (such as Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc.) must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit.

    The company provided a better Renault SUV than the one we reserved. The vehicle was brand new and in great condition. The service was also excellent, and the return process was simple.     We rented the car from the Budget store in Hobart Downtown. The front desk staff were very patient and courteous. They carefully inspected our documents and explained the rental terms and precautions in detail before accompanying us to inspect the vehicle. They recorded even the slightest scratches we pointed out, even the ones that could be ignored, just to ease our concerns. They also advised us to take several photos for documentation. The first car we received was a brand new Renault Koleos SUV with only 1500 kilometers on it. However, we noticed a noise from the tires after driving out, so we returned it and were given another nearly new model with 3500 kilometers. The car was in excellent condition and came with an integrated GPS, which was very convenient and accurate for navigation!
