Q1.What is an insurance excess？
The excess is the amount you'll only be liable for in case of damage(under Collision Damage Waiver) or theft(under Theft Protection) of the vehicle.
Information about the excess will be clearly stated in the price inclusion when you reserve a car on QEEQ.
Q2. How can I add an addtional driver?
You are advised to make a request upon your arrival at the rental counter. Additional charge per day will incur unless '1 Additional Driver Included' is stipulated on the rental.
Please note that the same licence and age requirement applys to the additonal driver. The addtional driver is supposed to present the required licence document along with the main driver at pickup.
Q3.What if I want to pick up or drop off my rental car out of office hours?
QEEQ will show you the car offers available at your chosen time on the search results.
However, pick-up or drop-off out of general opening hours may subject to an extra fee unless self-service pick-up or drop-off is available.
After you reserve a car on QEEQ, we will inform you of specific policy of the car hire company by email.
Q4. Can I take the hired car to another country or cross border?
If you want to pick up your car in one country and drop it in another, your search results will show you cars you can do that with.
If you're planning to cross any borders during your trip, bear in mind:
1. You may have to pay more.
There are often extra fees, taxes or additional cover you'll pay at the car hire counter.
2.It may not be allowed.
Depending on where you're hiring, you may not be able to take your car to another country.
Please email us if you want to take your hire car into a different country during your trip, and we'll talk you through your options.
Q5. Can I pick up my car at one location and return it at different location?
Yes. You can pick up the vehicle in one place and drop it off in another. An ‘one-way fee’ will incur. Whether it is inclued in the rental price or what additional cost may arise will be clearly stated at the time of booking on QEEQ.
Please inform the car hire company of your drop-off location when you pick up the vehicle or contact them directly during your trip. You will find a phone number on the rental agreement you signed at pickup.

We had no trouble finding the Avis office in Bergen, and the staff gave us a really warm welcome. They patiently answered all our questions. The car had a bit over 50,000 km on it, exactly the Toyota RAV4 we’d booked, and it was very clean. Overall, a really good rental experience.

Honestly, the whole city-center pickup at night was pretty stressful. No one contacted me even half an hour before the pickup time, so I had to shamelessly ask a few locals to borrow their phone and call the airport branch myself. I ended up waiting almost an hour before the guy finally showed up. He was actually really nice and the paperwork was quick, but the car I booked had an issue with the door lock, so they gave me a replacement that was pretty beat up all over, while the rental agreement stayed the same. It was dark, raining, and I was alone with this battle-scarred car—I was about ready to fall apart out there. On the bright side, the car drove really well; they upgraded me from a regular gas car to a hybrid, which saved a lot on fuel. The round trip to town A only cost about 28kr in gas, and even filling it up at the end stayed under 500kr. It was my first time driving alone on a road trip, and it turned into a pretty unforgettable experience.

This was my second time renting a car overseas with Hertz. We originally booked a Volvo XC60 and were a bit worried they wouldn’t have that model, but they ended up giving us a free upgrade to a nearly brand‑new XC90 with just over 6,000 km on it. Such a great surprise! The whole pickup and drop‑off process was super smooth. When we returned the car, there was a staff member right there in the lot; the handsome guy even drove us and all our luggage back to the airport terminal, which felt really thoughtful. He took one quick look at the car, told us we could take photos or not, totally up to us, he didn’t mind at all—really chill and easygoing, we had a good laugh. We’ll definitely choose Hertz again next time without hesitation.
View moreOne reminder: the rental info says you must use the main driver’s credit card for the deposit at pickup, but we actually used our travel companion’s card and it was fine. Also, you can only pick up the car up to 30 minutes before your scheduled time; any earlier and they’ll charge extra. The friendly guy at the counter explained that clearly, so we just waited until exactly 30 minutes before to do the paperwork.
The only thing I forgot to ask about was this: the terms say that if no one is working that day, you have to collect the keys from a key box and the deposit must be charged to the same card used when booking. The problem is, we can’t use VISA cards in China, so we had to book with a UnionPay credit card, which doesn’t work overseas. We asked QEEQ customer service, and they only replied that there would be staff at the counter on our rental day. In the end there really was someone working, but before that we were pretty anxious about it.

But after I returned it, they charged me three separate times and never provided any breakdown of the fees. That kind of lack of transparency is unacceptable to me. When I rent in the UK or Dubai, they always email a detailed invoice to the address on my contract.

For return, we just followed the nav to oslo s p hus, parked in any open spot, and they didn’t even inspect the car on the spot—said they’d check it after cleaning.
